The Foundation has contracted two brokers to look for suitable climate protection projects and act as neutral intermediaries between itself and the sellers (project owners).

General information

The selected brokers were CantorCO2e and a consortium formed by two companies, Climate Focus / South Pole Carbon Asset Management, both of which focused more specifically on small, highly sustainable projects.

Status

By the end of 2009, brokers had provided the Foundation with a total of 12 projects, with which it was able to conclude purchase agreements covering the delivery of around 1.78 million certificates. Of these, 98’400 CERs have already been transferred to the Foundation’s account in the National Emissions Trading Registry.
